Sour orange light (Kyoto L)

Second visit to Kyoto's Arashiyama. Last time was in April. The amount of tourism was not too much this time and for a moment I heard noises not generated by human kind. It's 20 minutes straight train ride from nearby of my home. A train of one car.

The highlight was ukai (cormorant) -fishing. While totally a show for tourists, as a glimpse to the ways of the past it was interesting. Violently birds dive after their instincts while men drum the fish awake. Rope reels the lucky ones in to vomit the catch in the sour orange light of a crackling lantern. But the sky is smooth and river warm.
